All roads lead to Saguenay
Close to the metropolitan cities and at the doorstep of Northern Quebec
Our city is on Highway 175: a four-lane divided highway that connects to Quebec City. Saguenay is served by provincial and regional transportation companies who have partnerships with their American counterparts.
Saguenay has a port-industrial park that grants access to all of North America. Three deep-water seaports (one private and two public) are accessible year-round and located 54 nautical miles from the confluence of the Saguenay River and the St. Lawrence River. Whereas the international cruise port is accessible from April to November, the two freight ports are accessible 365 days a year. They can accommodate vessels of more than 100,000 deadweight tonnage and are connected by railway to the North-American network.
The Bagotville-Saguenay Airport is not just a civilian airport, but also an operational military base that houses CF-18 planes (3 Wing Bagotville) of the Royal Canadian Air Force. The dual civil and military status that characterizes this infrastructure enables our city to have state-of-the-art aeronautical equipment that can accommodate all aircraft types, including the largest carriers. The airport also has international entry airport status for any aircraft with 30 occupants or less on board (AOE/30).
